Today Pastor Moore preached about an "Unlikely Vessel" and it was an awesome word. The scripture was John 4:39-41.  During the sermon Pastor Moore has some valid points. One point was that we must do what the Bible says and not how we feel. He also stated that our shout isn't enough and we have to do something else in order to glorify God. What a lot of people need to realize is that no matter where you are Jesus will come and find you at your point of need.  Ultimately, the sermon showed us that it doesn't matter what you have done Jesus still loves you.

What did you gain from the Sermon?

What does the Scripture say about our speech?

(All Scripture from the New King James Version)

“But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’  For whatever is more than these is from the evil one.”  - Matthew 5:37

“A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings for good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings for evil things.  But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give an account of it in the day of judgment.  For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”
- Matthew 12:35-37

“Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.  And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.  Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice.  And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.”
- Ephesians 4:29-32

“Therefore be imitators of God as dear children.  And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.  But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you as is fitting for saints; neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks.”  - Ephesians 5:1-4

“But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth.  Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him.”  - Colossians 3:8-10

“Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.”  - Colossians 4:6

“But let none of you suffer as a murderer, a thief, an evildoer, or as a busybody in other people’s matters.”  - 1 Peter 4:15

“Wise people store up knowledge, but the mouth of the foolish is near destruction.”
- Proverbs 10:14

“A prudent man conceals knowledge, but the heart of fools proclaims foolishness.”
- Proverbs 12:23

“He who guards his mouth preserves his life, but he who opens wide his lips shall have destruction.”  - Proverbs 13:3

“In the mouth of a fool is a rod of pride, but the lips of the wise will preserve them.”
- Proverbs 14:3

“The tongue of the wise uses knowledge rightly, but the mouth of fools pours forth foolishness.”  - Proverbs 15:2

“The lips of the wise disperse knowledge, but the heart of the fool does not do so.”
- Proverbs 15:7

“The heart of him who has understanding seeks knowledge, but the mouth of fools feeds on foolishness.”  - Proverbs 15:14

“A fool’s lips enter into contention, and his mouth calls for blows.  A fool’s mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul.  The words of a talebearer are like tasty trifles, and they go down into the inmost body.”  - Proverbs 18:6-8

“He who answers a matter before he hears it, it is folly and shame to him.”
- Proverbs 18:13

“Do not answer a fool according to his folly, lest you also be like him.  Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own eyes.”
- Proverbs 26:4-5

“A fool vents all his feelings, but a wise man holds them back.”
- Proverbs 29:11

“Do you see a man hasty in his words?  There is more hope for a fool than for him.”
- Proverbs 29:20

Hello everyone in the blog world!  This Wednesday was Health Wednesday and we had individuals from the Kalamazoo Health Department come in and discuss everything about STDs.  The statistics that they shared were mind blowing. For instance, did you know that Kalamazoo rates number 2 and 3 for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea in the State? Sometimes there are no symptoms with STDs   so it is imperative that you get tested. According to nationalstd.org more than 15 million people are diagnosed with STDs each year.  That is a sad statistic and the only way not to become a statistic is abstinence abstinence and abstinence. No one will love you more than you will love yourself. There are many test centers here in the Kalamazoo area. Please know you STATUS?

Why do you think people don't get tested?

Hello Blog Family! If you didn't make it to Prayer Service/Bible Study you missed a treat. A lot of us tend to complain about our financial situations and how our money is a little funny but in Prayer Service we prayed powerful scriptures that declared prosperity and financial release. One of my favorite scriptures was Psalm 122:7 which states Let peace be within my walls and prosperity within my place. Basically, this scripture is saying that I expect peace and prosperity in my house. Another favorite scripture was Matthew 6:6 which states that I pray in secret, and you reward me openly. Since we are a family I think we should all continue to pray the scriptures from Bible Study and do a recap on how we felt in a week!

What was your favorite Scripture and why?

Today I went to Bible Study/Prayer Service and it was phenomenal. We learned how to pray with more faith statements and we actually wrote down our prayers with different faith statements. This was a different approach because you actually were able to see your faith statements instead of just saying it. We all know that we when write something it allows the words to sink in even more.  We also watched a video of a 5 year old saying a phenomenal prayer using nothing but faith statements.  It was touching because we should always pray using the word of God and this little boy was a great example of training up a child in the way he should go. From now on I'm going to start writing down my prayers and the speaking them.

What did you take away from Bible Study/Prayer Service?
