Last Wed. in Bible Study we discussed Alzheimers. Although many of us don't like to think about it, the truth is Alzheimers is a very serious and growing disease. According to alz.org
"Many Americans dismiss the warning signs of Alzheimer's, believing that these
symptoms are a part of normal aging. They are diagnosed too late and miss the
opportunity to get the best care possible. This is of even greater concern for
African-Americans, who are more likely to develop Alzheimer's disease than
whites.
African-Americans have a higher rate of vascular disease (diseases involving
blood vessels, including heart attack and stroke) – one of the suspected risk
factors of Alzheimer's disease."
Since we know the facts about Alzheimers how will we get the word out to help others?

Listening to your body is an essential part of taking control of your life. Here are some ways in which you can start taking care of your body.
1. Eat Breakfast daily. Many of us skip breakfast but we shouldn't because it is our energy meal and it can sustain us in our busy day,
2. Get plenty of rest. As we sleep we actually burn calories even when the body is at full rest, it requires energy to fulfill basic needs such as breathing, blood circulation, organ function and repairing and growing cells. When the body is at rest calorie burning mechanisms within are fully at work. Did you know that for every hour of sleep the body burns 50-53 calories per hour depending on the weight of individuals which adds up to 420 calories burned while sleep.
The word states that God resides in and since he resides in us why do we treat our bodies so poorly? How many of you eat breakfast and get plenty of rest?
