During the Shine event Pastor Moore gave props to the college aged students for being so active in church at a young age. He stated that when the Baby Boomer generation was young they didn't attend church as much as young adults do today.
Do you think it is easier to be committed to church when you're young or old?
Last Wednesday Pastor Moore spoke about how Christians are not being Christ-like when it comes to Social Media. He stated that there is nothing wrong with Social Media but the way we use it is wrong. He further went on to say that we are not leading people to Christ by what we post on Facebook.
How do you use Social Media and is it glorifying God?
Now that we are couple of weeks into the New Year most people have given up on their resolutions or are still going strong. How many of you have actually made a spiritual NY Resolution to God? Some people have made spiritual resolutions to be more odedient in the word, study more, pray more, pay tithes and go to Sunday School.
Have you made a Spiritual Resolution or Will you make one?
Right now there are a lot of people Occupying Banks and creating other Occupying Movements because of how the econonmy is. The only thing that we can Occupy is Jesus because he is the only consistent source of peace. I believe that the whole recession is apart of God's plan to get our attention because we have strayed when it comes to church/God. Sometimes we have to hit bottom in order to see Jesus.
Are you trusting the Economy or Jesus?
We must start encouraging others. There are a lot of people going through things and sometimes they just need a word of encouragement. Sometimes we are so consumed with our problems we don't think about others. Some people want to hear Hold on from someone that is really Holding on. When you encourage others it actually helps you forget about your problems and makes you become a happier person. In today's society we have a tendency of not wanting others to do well and we like to break others down. Starting today I urge you to become selfless and help others.
Moving from Milk to Meat was our theme a couple years ago. Pastor was pushing the church to grow spiritually. Now it's time to take a self assessment and examine ourselves to see if we have truly moved from Milk to Meat. For instance, do you read your Bible more and attend pray service? Are you worry free because you know who holds tomorrow?
Let's us know your thoughts!
What more perfect Gift to recieve than the Gift of Jesus. Sunday was Christmas and Pastor Moore preached about God's Indesccribable Gift. The text came from 2Corithians 9-15. The four points in the sermon were: 1.He was Promised 2.Part of the Plan 3.His gft was proven and 4.Causes Praise.
What I gained from this sermon was that Jesus was born so that we may have peace.
Let's us know what you gained from the Sermon?
This time of year people are giving gifts and services to others. Some people are helping at the Missions while others have adopted families. Although it is great to give back during this time of year it is even better to help others 365 days a year.
How do you give back?
The New Year is approaching and that means new commitments. What are some of your commitments/resolutions that you will make as a Christian? For instance, start attending Fulfillment Hour, pray more often and have more faith.
This is the season where a lot of people are working hard to buy Christmas gifts but how many people are working hard to please God? Although it is nice to receive gifts, we have forgotten the real reason for the season. Just remember that Christmas is to celebrate the life of Jesus!
